Following the conclusion of legal proceedings against contractor PFIC (Partners for Improvement in Camden) and its principal subcontractors, the Leader of Camden Council, Cllr Georgia Gould, has announced that the second stage of the independent Chalcots review can begin.
The Council is preparing the terms of reference and is seeking an independent chair to conduct the second part of the review, which will look at the refurbishment of the Chalcots by the PFI company and their management. The review will include Council Officers, Members and residents, and it will be published in full once complete.
Camden Council is set to launch its next Youth Safety Fortnight with a series of events and activities for children, young people, parents, carers and professionals, which will raise awareness of what is being done locally to keep young residents safe ā as well as helping to equip young people and the community to stay safe.
Running from 27 June to 10 July, this yearās Youth Safety Fortnight will haveĀ about 100 eventsĀ taking place across the borough.
The themes of this yearās Youth Safety Fortnight are youth exploitation, keeping young people safe, and young women and girlsā safety, with a range of events and activities, both face to face and online, based on these themes.

The government has announced plans to introduce new laws to tackle the problems of social housing landlords providing sub-standard housing.
Councils and housing associations would be subject to “Ofsted-style” inspections, and could face unlimited fines if conditions are found to be really bad and the landlord doesn’t fix the problems.
Transport for London is proposing significant changes to bus routes around London.

Together with Keep Britain Tidy, Camden Council have a new project that aims to tackle illegal rubbish dumping in Camden.
They are looking for groups – one resident to lead with at least one neighbour, friend or family member – to tell them about a rubbish dumping hotspot in your area.
With hands-on support from Keep Britain Tidy, and grants of up to Ā£800 available, the Council says they will work closely with up to eight groups to transform the spot into a beautiful space.
