Notting Hill Carnival 2023

It is the August Bank Holiday long weekend (last bank holiday until Christmas!), so it must mean Notting Hill Carnival.

This cultural phenomenon starts on Saturday with a Steel Band competition (tickets required!), and continues with Children’s Day on Sunday, and the main event on Monday.

International Jazz Day 2023

UNESCO has declared that 30 April is International Jazz Day.

This Day is intended to raise awareness of the virtues of jazz as an educational tool, and a force for empathy, dialogue and enhanced cooperation among people. Many governments, civil society organizations, educational institutions, and private citizens currently engaged in the promotion of jazz music will embrace the opportunity to foster greater appreciation not only for the music but also for the contribution it can make to building more inclusive societies.

So go out there and listen to some jazz music (there is a style to suit everyone) and help make the world a better place.
