Here is a link to the next HS2 Community drop-in event on Wednesday 20 February, from 3pm to 5pm (note the early time!) at the St Pancras & Somers Town Living Centre, 2 Ossulton Street, NW1 1DF.
Archaeologists working for HS2 in the former cemetery that is St James Gardens have found the remains of explorer Captain Matthew Flinders. Flinders is a household name in Australia, most famous for being the first person to sail around the continent.
Interestingly, Matthew Finders’ grandson was the noted archaeologist Sir Flinders Petrie, who excavated many sites in Egypt and Israel between 1880 and 1940.
Update: Community Meeting on 22 January location has changed.
