TfL financial crisis hits transport upgrades

The well-publicised delays to the opening of the new Elizabeth Line (also known as Crossrail) have had knock-on effects on Transport for London (TfL).

Proposed upgrades to Camden Town Underground Station are being deferred, as well as improvements to the Piccadilly and Northern Lines.

Improvement works to Holborn Station are still being planned.

Make Kentish Town Stations step free

Transport for London (TfL) have identified Kentish Town Station & Kentish Town West Station as potential sites to go step free, thus making the stations accessible for all. But they need to bid for the money from the Department for Transport.

Camden Council fully support this, and want as many people as possible to contact TfL to say that they support the funding bid for Camden’s stations to get step free access.

If you would like to support the bid for step free access at the above stations, please just email the following officers at TfL, stating that you wish to support Camden’s funding bid for step free access. If you wish to add any additional sentiments or reasons for your support, you are welcome to do so.  There is no other commitment or requirement on your part and you do not have to provide any personal details. &

Please also copy Josephine Allman [Head of Camden Accessible Travel Solutions] into your email .

The deadline is very tight and your support email is requested by Friday 2nd November 2018 at the latest.
