Thames Water works on Gloucester Avenue September until December

Message from Thames Water:

Overnight Thames Water works – from 11 September to 2 December

Currently Thames Water are carrying out works to install a protective liner in the sewer underneath Gloucester Avenue. 

From Monday 11 September to Saturday 2 December, between 8pm and 5am, Thames Water operatives will access the Thames Water sewer at various locations to install a temporary non-structural lining on Gloucester Avenue. 

The access will be organised via manholes located on Gloucester Avenue, Oval Road, Prince Albert Road, as well as Walterton Road and Formosa Street, which are in West London (W9). This work will not be noisy.

The Open House Festival 2023

The annual Open House Festival starts on Wednesday 06 September 2023 and goes until Sunday 17 September.

This festival is dedicated to making architecture and neighbourhoods more open, accessible and equitable.

Having started out as Open House weekend, it has grown greatly, but at its core is still the aim of giving the public a chance to see inside and learn about some of the great architecture in this city.

Outside of the Festival, Open City also run walking tours and other events.

Some events are free, and some require pre-booking, but there should be something for everyone.

Doggie Day at the Brunswick Centre

There will be a dog event at the Brunswick Centre in Bloomsbury on Saturday 02 September 2023 from 12 pm until 4:30 pm.

Entry is free.

There will be prizes and awards given, including for waggiest tail, best paw shakes, most obedient, most handsome and more.

There will also be a dog fashion show, professional dog trainers, stalls, a dog caricature artist, and much more.

Update on out-of-hours work by HS2 around Euston

A message from HS2:

We’re writing to update you on some weekend, extended hours and overnight works taking place in Euston Approaches.

Along with ongoing monitoring of the bridges and structures at track level and site maintenance, we will carry out the following works in end August – September:

  • Extended hour works to remove tower crane – 30 to 31 August, 8am to 10pm. 
  • Overnight work to move silos to Vehicle Holding Area – 12 to 13 September, 5pm to 5am
  • Overnight Hampstead Road hoarding maintenance – 23 to 24 September, 7pm to 3am
  • Overnight traffic cameras installed to monitor lorries – ongoing, from 21 August, 7pm to 6am

We do not expect above works to be noisy. However residents may notice brief periods of noise during Hampstead Road hoarding maintenance as we clean the road and hoarding, we apologies for inconvenience this may cause.
