With the colder weather on its way, Camden Council run a couple of schemes to help people stay warm in their homes, and also deal with other health and income related issues.
The Council says:
Our Wish Plus service is an umbrella service aiming to help Camden residents with keeping warm, as well as income and health related issues. I have attached a short leaflet with more explanation.
Our Well & Warm service sits within the Wish Plus service and provides free home energy visits for Camden residents. The service is aimed at low income households and includes tailored advice and provision of free energy saving measures such as draught-proofing and low energy bulbs. I have attached a further leaflet with more information.
Both services can be accessed via our Green Camden Help Line number 0800 801 738 (Mon – Fri, 9am – 5pm), or Camden’s website.
Both services have existed for over five years and we want to try and make sure as many eligible residents are aware of these services as possible.
Residents receiving these services have consistently praised them. Many residents now have a warmer home thanks to the small insulation measures that have been provided during the home visits (such as draught proofing on doors and windows), and a significant number of residents have been helped financially by the help they have received to switch energy providers. These are just some of the positive results from these services.
